A whinny escaped the golden stud's maw as he re-entered his homeland after being separated from it for a while. The entire area had been abandoned for quite some time except for maybe Aidan. He probably had stayed. He knew he had probably lost his mares for good and that upset him. He missed them all..Bella and Aysia especially.
Coming to a stop in the middle of his favorite part of the land, Caleb reared up, once again staking his claim on the terra.

[shadow=pink,left,500] I had recently caught Caleb's scent, the stallion I had resided under a while back. We had become separated but I was sure this would be him. It had to be.
I galloped through the trees, barely paying them any attention as they whizzed by me. I was only concerned with one thing and that one thing was going home to where I belonged. It didn't take me too much longer to break through the trees and see the golden hued stallion I had missed so much. I had never really gotten to know him much, but I enjoyed being in his herd. I stopped quickly near him and whickered happily.
"Caleb! I'm so glad to see you. Have you found the others?"
I could barely contain my excitement. I looked around but didn't see anyone else close by.

A familiar nicker captured Caleb's full attention as he spun around to see the ebony painted mare that resided in his herd long ago. Cascade! It's so great to see you again. How have you been? No, I'm afraid not. I lost everyone after we had separated. The palomino stallion smiled and shook out his mane.

A smile crept across my maw at his response. Though we hadn't really gotten to talk too much before, he clearly seemed happy to see me.
"I've been alright. The winter was tough but no different than any other year I suppose."
I looked up at the sky as the sun disappeared. A cloud had moved in front of it, blocking the light and the warmth. I snorted softly before returning my gaze to Caleb. [/shadow]

Yeah, it was. Especially with everyone being out on their own. At least you made your way back. Caleb smiled warmly at her before lowering his head to graze. He was happy to at least have one of his old mares back. And maybe Aysia and/or Bella would show up. He loved them both dearly.

His warm smile encouraged one of my own. I couldn't help but smile back at him. It pleased me that he seemed so happy to see me. Since I arrived I had thought I was simply a nuisance to him. He had always been so caught up with chasing Aysia and befriending Belle. I wasn't even sure he knew I was part of his herd. Truthfully I thought his motive for accepting me was to pass me off to Slip so he could keep Aysia.
Slip. Where had he gone anyways? I liked him, he seemed nice and served his purpose of being Caleb's substallion well. He was always so sweet. I missed him and all the others, though I couldn't remember all of their names.
Snorting softly, I lowered my head to graze, the memories of our old herd flooding my mind.

The golden hued stud grazed alongside the pretty painted essa. His creamy white banner flicked across his sun-kissed sides, keeping the annoying flies at bay. He stood near Cascade, hoping the flicking of his tail would keep the flies away from her as well. Caleb daydreamed as he grazed, thinking about his old herd. He was really stuck on them and couldn't stop thinking about them. He had to move on though, move forward and begin a new herd. Would those memories allow him to move on? Or would they keep him in the past, wishing to have them all back? Caleb glanced up at Cascade. He still had her. The one remaining member of what used to be his beloved herd. As long as he had Cascade, he had his link to the past.

[shadow=pink,left,500] I grazed alongside him in content companionship. It was nice outside, the sun was shining and a gentle breeze blew occasionally. The birds sang their songs and the treefrogs called out to each other. I was happy here with Caleb and as long as I didn't get separated again, I would be content

The wind carried with it the scent of Cascade's heat as she came to graze beside him. Knowing what he had to do, Caleb lifted his golden crania and turned towards her. He lipped at her withers and drew a line with his maw along her side to her rump, blowing his hot breath against her two toned pelt. He paused at her rump, waiting to see if she'd accept him or turn him away.
