All was silent aside from the sound of the midnight stallion's daggers beating the ground as he ran. Aidan knew where he was headed and exactly where to find it despite only hearing about it in stories and never actually being there himself. The land finally came into sight and he slowed to a trot, looking around him. It wasn't exactly a bad looking place, but also not the most attractive.
Aidan stopped quickly and looked around, trying to imagine his sire in these lands. It wasn't hard to imagine, these lands suited him. The lands of Onde looked exactly the way they were described in the stories he had heard. He shuddered at the memory.
Rearing up as high as he could, Aidan let out the loudest whinny he could manage. It was full of authority and was his way of stating his claim upon these lands. As his daggers reached the earth once more, he felt a chill run through his body and all of a sudden he felt like he wasn't alone..

Curiousity filled my mind as I took in these new surroundings. The trees had gone from lively and green to dark and dead. I slowed my ivory hued pillars to a quiet walk as i progressed through the area. I heard faint hoofbeats and a chill ran through my ivory bodice. It got cold all of a sudden. A loud whinny rang in the air and my dial jerked up, harks perked forward. The warm temperature returned and I trotted towards the sound of the whinny of the stallion who had claimed the land. Who would want to claim this dead land? I mean, sure it had a certain quality that made it appealing but it was so..dark.
The black stallion came into view and I froze in my tracks momentarily. He looked justt like Onde. But he wasn't Onde so it was okay. And that was the moment I realized what this was. This stallion had to have been a relative of Onde's, claiming his land as his own. Alright, so now it made sense to me. I lowered my head to sniff at the ground, waiting for him to notice I had arrived. [/color]

A silvery flash of movement caught the black stallion's eyes and he turned to see a pretty cremello mare standing not too far away sniffing at the ground she stood upon. A soft whicker was sent out in her direction as Aidan began to approach her. Greetings, miss. The name's Aidan. And what may I call you? Aidan dipped his head. She was gorgeous. She was a bit stocky and muscled, but seemed to have the delicateness of an Arabian. All good qualities if one were to live here. Anyone bold enough to reside in these lands must be strong an sturdy because you never know what could be waiting for you around the corner.

I lifted my dial as I heard his whicker followed by the sound of him approaching me. I flitted my ears back slightly, warning him. I knew he was Onde's relative, it was easy to see that the blood of the great draft stallion ran in this stallion's veins. I didn't know how much of it made up his personality though. His polite greeting changed my mind immediately. I pricked my silvery cream harks towards him.
"Greetings, miss. The name's Aidan. And what may I call you?"
"You can call me Carmine. Carm if you really wish."
I snorted softly at the ending. I looked around at the land surrounding me. Behind Aidan, further back was a small clearing fill with seemingly lush green grass. I wasn't close enough to really see it closely or to taste it, but it looked good from here. This land had at least one redeeming quality. I hadn't seen such green grass before. I looked to Aidan, not caring about my bluntness and partial rudeness as I spoke confidently to him.
"Alright, look Aidan. I need a home. I've been travelling for far too long. I'd llike to stay here and if you have no complaints, I'll just make myself at home."
I didn't move of course, not until he gave me the 'Ok' to do so.

Carmine. It was a nice name, unique and pretty. Aidan smiled and parted his maw to speak, but closed it as she started to speak again. She was very forward in saying she wished to stay, but respectful in the sense she didn't barge right past him. So, she knew her limits. Since he was about to invite her to stay, Aidan had no problem with her statement.
No, I have no complaints. Please, do make yourself at home. It's a pleasure to have you here. The black stallion took a few steps back, allowing her space to pass him to go to the clearing he had seen her looking at.
